AJ Products delivering high quality in every detail
AJ Products has delivered furniture for workplaces all over Europe for over 40 years. During our years in the business, we have always kept the customer as our focal point and analysed what you demand, need and long for to create a more pleasant workplace. This experience, combined with smart solutions and high quality, forms the basis of our purchasing and product development processes and gives each a clear, common goal: to give you a better workday.
At our headquarters in Halmstad lies AJ Products’ purchasing department, where Erika Larsson, one of AJ Products’ product managers for the past eight years, and Kristoffer Eriksson, our purchasing manager, work. The purchasing department works daily to develop the range, always with the customer’s needs and wishes as a starting point.
"Many people are surprised when they see the breadth of our range and all the various solutions we can offer. We have our own factories in Slovakia and Poland, which account for a significant part of our production. More than 90 percent of our purchases come from suppliers in Europe and we buy most of our products from Swedish suppliers", says Kristoffer.
Each new purchase begins with in-depth analysis and research into which needs that particular product must meet. Ongoing analysis of the assortment is done to ensure that the products continue to meet today’s requirements.
"I get inspiration from fairs, trend events and by looking at what’s happening around the world. I look for products that will suit our customer groups and focus a lot on accessories such as lighting, ergonomics and office accessories that really make a big difference to how people feel during their workday. You can achieve a lot by adding small details", says Erika.
We focus on the workplace
Quality control is another important part of the process and, there, teamwork is the key to success. Erika works closely with AJ Products’ quality team.
"When we purchase a new product, we put it through the same steps that the customer would to ensure the highest quality in everything from how the product is packaged to how it works", explains Erika.
Environmental awareness is yet another element in the product development process that is welcomed by AJ Products. We were first on the Swedish market to offer Nordic Eco-labelled furniture for preschools and schools.
"We think about the environment when we create new products and place high demands on our suppliers to stay at the forefront of environmental consciousness. With our in-house designed Split series for example, the products are very easy to separate for recycling", says Erika.
Whether new purchases from our suppliers or in-house manufactured items, the products must be approved from a quality perspective. There are many products that do not make it through the eye of the needle – they simply don't meet the requirements that AJ Products has for design, function, ergonomics, durability and the environment.
"After this, we only continue with products that have passed the requirements that we demand of them; ones that we feel represent our brand and of which we can be proud. We are confident that this creates a sense of security for our customers", says Kristoffer.
