Eight ways to enjoy the Summer when you’re at work
Do you work full time during the summer season? Are you afraid you’re going to miss out on all the nice sunny weather? Well don’t worry - with a little planning and some simple tricks, you can still enjoy the things that this time of year brings. Read our eight tips below to help you get that wonderful summer feeling!
1. Get some folding furniture
Foldable chairs and tables allow you and your colleagues to make the most of the sun at the drop of a hat! Whether it’s in the park, or the car park!
2. Walk or cycle to work
Do you live within walking or biking distance from work? Take advantage of this and get some fresh air and daily exercise.
3. Wake up earlier
Getting out of bed an hour earlier during the summer has several advantages. You could go for a run, eat an extra-long breakfast outside or do anything else that will give you a really good start to the day.
4. Do something socially with colleagues
Take the opportunity to socialise and have fun with your colleagues. Plan an after work activity such as a barbecue or a drink in a local beer garden.
5. Create a summer playlist
Many people work better when there is music playing. Make a playlist of summer hits that lift your mood and help the work day run smoothly.
6. Have a summertime escape bag ready
Pack a bag with a towel, sunscreen, swimwear and other summer stuff then store it in the car or at work. Then you are always ready to head straight to the beach or the park whenever you get that urge.
7. Have a sports day with you colleagues
Playing sports outdoors with colleagues is a great way to strengthen the team spirit and to take advantage of good weather. Maybe an afternoon football tournament, some beach tennis or maybe a quick throw of a Frisbee at lunch - the main thing is that you do it together.
8. Have a picnic
Replace the usual lunch with a lovely picnic in the grass. If you are lucky enough to have a communal garden area with picnic benches then be sure to use it! It will be cheaper than eating in a restaurant and it gives you time to rest and relax before it is time to return to work.
